Kemal Gün holds funeral for his son after hunger strike for 90 days

Kemal Gün, who had been on hunger strike for 90 days to retrieve remains of his son Murat Gün who was killed in an airstrike in Dersim, has conducted a funeral ceremony in Hozat district of Tunceli (Dersim) province on Friday, reported Bianet.org.

Kemal Gün could finally get his son’s bones on Thursday after his 90 days of hunger strike. The bones of Murat Gün were delivered and then taken from Tunceli Municipality sent to Hozat Djemevi’s morgue on an ambulance. According to a report by Dicle news agency (Dihaber), following a funeral ceremony held in Hozat Djemevi, Gün’s son has been laid to rest in Hozat Cemetery.

Kemal Gün’s attorney Engin Gökoğlu told bianet.org on Thursday that Kemal Gün had ended his hunger strike upon receiving his dead son’s bones and that he would receive a medical treatment after the funeral ceremony was held.
