Newly emerged video footage shows the moment a group of Umrah pilgrims from Turkey publicly vows to vote ‘yes’ in a referendum on proposed constitutional amendments that will officially bring an executive presidential system to Turkey in early April.
During the 40-second video, a group of around thirty congregants say amen in response to the prayer of a Turkish imam, Nezih Bakkaloğlu, while praying around the holy Kaaba at the Grand Mosque.
Bakkaloğlu initially starts the praying by vowing to vote ‘yes’ in the planned referendum, which, he says, will pave the way for a “powerful Turkey” and “powerful Islamic world.”
The prayer goes on with cursing at the “infidels”, “Gulen movement followers,” and finally the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
Here is what the group said:
For a powerful county
For a powerful Turkey
For a powerful Islamic world
We say ‘Yes,’ God!
We say “We are in,” God!
We say ‘Yes,’ God!
For a powerful Islamic world
We say ‘Yes,’ God!
For a powerful county
We say ‘Yes,’ God!
We say ‘Yes’ against infidels, PKK
God!
We say ‘Yes’ against DAESH
God!
We say ‘Yes’ against FETO members
God!
We say ‘Yes’ to be on your path
We say ‘Yes’ to be on the path of Quran
We say ‘Yes’ to be on the path of the prophet
We say ‘Yes’
God!
