Indictment seeks up to 15 years jail time for 71 businessmen over Gulen links

An indictment prepared by a Kayseri prosecutor seeks a jail sentence of from three to 15 years for 71 businessmen due to their alleged links to the Gülen movement, which the Turkish government blames for a failed coup last July.

According to the Doğan News Agency, the prosecutor who drafted the indictment has presented as evidence of the academics’ links to the Gülen movement their bank accounts at the now-closed and Gülen-affiliated Bank Asya and their use of a smart phone application known as Bylock.

Among the 71 businessmen are former AK Party deputy Ahmet Öksüzkaya, AK Party’s former Kayseri provincial head Ömer Dengiz, reknown businessmen Fatih Somyürek, Suat Somyürek, Abdullah Eraslan, Elif Bozdağ and Ersin Kıranatlıoğlu. (turkeypurge.com)
