İzmir’s leading high school transferred to the foundation of Erdoğan’s son

İzmir Atatürk High school, one of the most prominent schools founded in 1888 in the western province of İzmir, has been transferred to Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) owned by Bilal Erdoğan, son of Turkey’s autocratic President Tayyip Erdoğan, the Gerçek Gündem news website reported on Sunday.

Alumni Association of the İzmir Atatürk High school protested the transfer of school to Erdoğan’s foundation with a statement and said it is not possible for them to accept a decision which is against the secular and democratic education system and which ignores the principles of Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey.

The Alumni Association said they are going to take legal action against the decision. (turkishminute.com)
