Governor’s Office bans protests and marches for one month in Turkey’s Van province

The Van Governor’s Office has prohibited the issuance of press releases, the setting up of tents and stands, sit-ins and similar forms of protest for one month, the t24 news website reported on Thursday.

According to the report, permission must be secured from the governor’s office to organize protests, meetings and demonstrations that will be held in an open or closed venue.

The statement from the governor’s office said the aim of the ban is to ensure peace and security in the city, maintain public order and protect the lives and properties of citizens. (turkishminute.com)
