ISIL suicide bomber planning to attack police station in Turkey killed

Turkish police on Wednesday killed an Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suicide bomber as he was planning to attack a police station in Mersin province, the Milliyet daily reported.

The Interior Ministry announced that the suicide bomber was an ISIL member.

The Mersin Governor’s Office issued a statement and said the terrorist was shot dead by police just as he was about to detonate the bomb.

The suicide bomber, who had been in Mersin for a year with his parents, was revealed to be a 20-year-old Syrian man living in an apartment building 100 meters from the police station. Police raided the house of the ISIL militant and detained his father. (turkishminute.com)
