İHD deputy chairman detained on terror charges

Human Rights Association (İHD) Deputy President Raci Bilici has been detained on terror charges in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.

Bilici, who is also the Diyarbakır branch head of the İHD, was detained following a police raid on his house on Wednesday morning as part of a terrorism probe conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The Turkish government has been carrying out a crackdown on civil society organizations, among others, following a failed coup attempt on July 15. Hundreds of people, who are members of civil society organizations, have been arrested on terror charges since the coup attempt. (turkishminute.com) March 15, 2017
