Detention warrants issued for 102 in post-coup investigation against İstanbul stock exchange

Detention warrants were issued on Friday for 102 people as part of an investigation against the alleged sympathizers of the Gülen movement.

The operation targets the movement’s allegedly secretive clique within the country’s stock exchange, Borsa İstanbul (BİST).

Police carried out operations in the provinces of İstanbul, Giresun, Balıkesir, Kayseri, Bursa and Ankara and have detained 57 suspects as of Friday morning.

Turkish authorities accuse the movement of attempting to topple down the government on July 15, 2016 while the movement denies any involvement in the coup attempt.

However, at least 120,000 people have been detained over alleged or real links to the movement so far. (turkishminute.com) May 12, 2017
