Kemal Gün, the father of a militant of the leftist terror organization DHKC, who were killed in a airstrike, was on hunger strike for 90 days to get the body of his son.

A 70-year-old man, who is just demanding to get the body of his son who was killed in an airstrike by the Turkish army in November, 2016, has been on hunger strike for 77 days in Tunceli (a.k.a. Dersim).

Kemal Gün, the father of a militant of the leftist terror organization Revolutionary People’s Liberation Front (DHKC) who were killed in a airstrike, is on hunger strike in Tunceli’s central Seyid Rıza Square for 77 days to get the body of his son, Murat Gün.

11 DHKC militants were killed in an airstrike of the Turkish army in Çet region located between Tunceli province and its Hozat district on 7 November 2016. Bodies of the killed militants have not been given by the state officials to their families yet.

It is reported that Kemal Gün’s health is in critical stage but he remains determined to continue his resistance until the end. Kemal Gün has reportedly said, “I will not leave here until I get a single bone of my son. I may lose weight and live health problems. Even, I may die here. But I will neither end my hunger strike nor leave this square. I will keep staying here with my will and honor. We Kurdish people must endure all these. We have experienced torture and everything else, and we should be able to cope with this too.”
